Northern Sky by HMonster04

Northern Sky

By HMonster04

He lay on his back, staring at the crystal clear night sky. The stars shimmered overhead, brilliant white points of light against a dark blue velvet backdrop. The stars were like diamonds, dazzling in their own right, but the contrast against the night sky is what truly set them off.

While he’d really never taken the time to consider it, Jasper suddenly realized that the members of his family were like those individual stars. Each amazing and gorgeous in their own right, but without the backdrop of one simple human, an insignificant girl who had come into their lives and turned everything upside down, they wouldn’t have anywhere near the brilliance. Three couples and one individual who were like free floating planets without a sun to orbit around.

All it took was one small girl, clumsy and awkward, to create the gravitational pull that would center their world, their lives.

She thought she had nothing, and yet she brought something special to each and everyone of them. She filled a hole they never realized existed; totally recreating the existence they thought they knew.

She’d become a lover, a wife, a mother, a sister, a friend, and a daughter.

Instead of becoming another bright point of light, a shining diamond, Bella had become the blue velvet night sky to their stars. The one who thought she brought nothing brought everything. She became the sun that aligned their planets.

She drew them closer together, completed them, and brought them love.

Happy bday to my lovely friend! Smooches and much love!

  1. H, the imagery here is absolutely gorgeous. I like the comparison between the night sky and the family we all love so much, and the idea of completion that you described here.

Thank you for sharing your words!
